Youth Mission Trip to Lakeside, Montana
Wednesday, August 2

Labor... and tourism!

Monday through Wednesday:
a 3-day weather comparison

Elkhorn high temperature = 102 degrees, 88% humidity
Glacier  camp  high  temp  =  78 degrees, 39% humidity

Elkhorn low temperature = 72 degrees
Glacier camp  low  temp  = 37 degrees

Wednesday was a day to continue work on building a wooden fence (digging post holes in rocky ground)
and to begin a new project: finding rocks and using them to build a rock wall.

In the afternoon, we took a sightseeing trip to Glacier National Park, which is about 60 miles northeast of here.

We went to the Information Center,
took a long hike around a mountain to Hidden Lake,
had a snowball fight on a glacier,
and ate supper at Avalanche Campground.

We saw many mountain goats
and drove on scary mountain roads!

We saw smoke from the big fire on the east side of Glacier National Park.

The 3-mile hike up to Hidden Lake was a great experience!
